Manazanar Internment CampManzanar In, CA
This camp was constructed in 1942 and housed over 20,000 Residents at a time. Manzanar, (an old Spanish trading town meaning "Apple Orchard"), is the most well-known of the camps but not necessarily the largest. It is held to be especially significant and has been preserved as a memorial to the Internees.
