Terminology
Many activists and spokespeople have expressed criticism with the terminology used by the government. Particularly, the unwillingness to use the term "concentration camp" due to its connotation has offended many. The camps were, indeed, concentration camps but lacked the horrors of the Nazi Camps that the term is forever associated with. Many other terms were used, such as "Relocation" and "Evacuation" centers. The camps were not deadly or intentionally cruel, with adequate supplies and a functioning economy, but the psychological impact on those who lived there must be taken into account.
